Unlocking Our Inner Voices
India ink on watercolor
22”x26”
We all have different “Parts” residing within our psyche; “part of me wants to go to the party Friday and part of me would rather go to a movie”.
Unless we listen and attend to the needs of ALL of those parts—unlocking their voices, we essentially leave important parts of ourselves struggling; drowning. Unlocking these voices and feelings, and recognizing and celebrating all of the parts, gives a voice. For me, my voice is expressed through my artwork as well as my writing, as I continuously advocate against the Stigma of Mental Illness.
